jackson. houston lifestyle newborn session

baby jackon is so teeny. so precious. so perfect. so QUIET! he allowed us to do so much with him. he came 5 weeks early when his sweet momma ended up in the hospital with appendicitis. you would have never known all she went through…she was such a trooper!

susannah & patrick…i loved hanging out with you guys. i called my husband on the way home from your house & told him how much fun we had & how it felt like we had known each other awhile & were old friends. later when i got your email that said “We so so enjoyed having you in our home and can’t imagine anyone else taking Jackson’s pictures. It felt like an old friend being there which was great.Thank you for making everything so easy and relaxed!! It was truly perfect!” it meant SO much to me because i felt the SAME way! i appreciated you vocalizing that more than you know…you’re such a sweet & thoughtful person. thanks from the bottom of my heart for the kind words.

so…let’s talk about your house & your decorating & how lucky i was to be able to photograph jackson in it…& also about how you’re going to help me decorate whenever we move! 😉 you are one talented momma!

i. love. this. family.

the excitement around that house was like christmas morning – big bro jonathan & big sis abby are in love (as are mom & dad, of course!). he is in good hands…he’s got his big brother & sister checking up on him with their medical kits already to make sure all is working right & i just know they will be there for him whenever he needs it!

i truly enjoyed every second with this family. abby & jonathan are so sweet & hilarious…i could listen to them all day. it made my heart melt to hear that abby woke up from her nap after i had left & asked “where’d my friend go?” and baby joshua…aaahhh…so precious. jennifer & i could’ve talked for days about photography & clickinmoms…as it was i took up half their day because i was so comfortable. and i LOVE that i was able to capture the real, true, them…the snuggles, the pj’s, the playing….thank you thank you for allowing me to do what i love in your beautiful home with your awesome family! congratulations – joshua is beautiful! xo

letters to our children. january


i am so excited to be starting a new blog circle this year relating to something very special to me: letters to our children…and i am participating in this with some of my favorite photography buds…love this group. writing letters to my children is something i have been very bad about in the past & it has become my new years resolution to become better with documenting & writing. this month i’m writing to my little miles 🙂 be sure to complete the blog circle all the way around…check out my talented friend amanda norton & leave her some love!


dear miles.
you have no idea how perfect i think you are. from the moment you were born you fit perfectly into this family, brought us all closer & made us all feel complete. “they” say that “social smiling” doesn’t start until 2 months old, but i swear you came out smiling from the start & never stopped. you have this uncanny ability to make people happy. i have caught you on numerous occasions patting the back of a stranger in a store & smiling at them when they turn around. i know you are only 10 months old but you LOVE LIFE & it’s contagious in the best way possible. your garrett LOVES you…we all do…but he adores you. i love to watch you guys interact…i had no idea it would be this early that you’d be hanging out with him at his train table playing cars (or putting them in your mouth at least) with him. i love the way you dance to music, the way you laugh, the way you aren’t scared of your 90 pound doggies, the way you sleep with your butt up in the air, the way your hair has a mind of it’s own, the way you smile & peek at me over daddy’s shoulder when he’s carrying you, the way you are patient & independent but snuggly all at the same time, the way you make funny faces when you hear strange noises…i even like the way you wake up at night, because even though me & daddy would love to get some sleep, seeing your sweet face is a great feeling no matter what time of the day it is. i love the way you are my red headed little surprise…we thought you were a girl when you were in my belly but i am soooo glad you are who you are, because you are PERFECT to me & life would not be the same without you. i am so lucky.

my friend cristina. houston maternity photos

it is always so much fun & so flattering when friends book a session with me. it’s not like work at all, just pure fun…
cristina & i go way back to club soccer days when we had big bangs & braces (well i had the braces).
i am sooo excited about this little mystery baby. cristina & ryan aren’t finding out what he/she is – eeeek, so exciting! and i get to take the newborn photos!
i can’t believe my little cristina is growing up on me…(haha jk, we’re the same age 😉
