birthday girl. houston baby’s first year photographer

claire bee…look at you, all grown up! what am i going to do without seeing you every 3 months 🙁 i won’t get to see those beautiful ringlets or your cute little tippy toes taking teeny steps. i know in like 5 seconds you’ll be running & then just as fast you’ll be a first grader & all the little boys will have a crush on you! but please promise to remember me…i’m sad that your baby’s first year pictures are over, but hope this isn’t the end of the road for me & you little claire, because I’LL MISS YOU!!!

i first met this family in november of last year when we did a combo in-home lifestyle/ outside session & fell in love with them! it surely did not feel like a whole year had gone by since i stepped foot in that gorgeous home of theirs & photographed their amazing family. i was so happy we did the same thing again – lifestyle in home & portraits outside (my favorite kind of session!). this time we decided to do some baking. ava LOVED it & little gavin had fun helping, too. isn’t ava cute in her apron?stephanie & darin are so good about letting their kids be kids & not stressing about getting the perfect shot. because of that little ava’s sparkly personality shines on camera & we were able to get atleast 2 hours out of gavin at only a year & a half old! poor gavin started getting sick right as the session started. you could see it in his eyes. he was going downhill as the session went on but was still such a champ.one of my favorite parts of my job is getting to know families like this…and then when i get to work with them over & over each year it makes me so appreciative & grateful.ava + gavin had fun eating their masterpieces. they have pretty cool parents, don’t they?!i love watching your kids grow, darin + stephanie. you have no idea how highly i think of all of you! you guys are such special people!and i am SO lucky to know you! thank you for coming back!

i got to snap some pictures of this little cutie when she was newly hatched! i had been looking so forward to seeing her & how she’s changed in the past 6 months…

and look! she’s all grown up! well…not ALL grown up, but you know what i mean! 🙂 isn’t she ADORABLE! and her parents are pretty cute, too!

so…julie is the sister of a good friend of mine. i’ve had so much fun getting to know her through all of angela’s get togethers…i love her & johnny.
i secretly wanted angela to surprise us at the session to say hi because i don’t get to see her much, but she had plans & was at a wedding.
but…i was so happy when angela’s husband showed up to say hi with their little isaac. victor had baby duty. the two of them are adorable together. of course i had to snap a couple pictures of isaac + his daddy, too!

i am making this sneak peek quick for two reasons:
1. i need to hit the road to go out of town for turkey day
2. i am all done with the entire gallery now! yay!

i think this family knows how genuinely crazy i am about them…each & every pahutka is AWESOME. they have a sparkle & a zest for life that is contagious & they’re a sparkle of light to the world…seriously! i love seeing them year after year.
speaking of that…thank you from the bottom of my heart for your loyalty, pahutka family. it means more than you can imagine…really. i look forward to seeing you guys every time i get the opportunity…i LOVE your children & it is obvious where they get their awesomeness from. happy birthday, sweet abby. you are precious, beautiful, perfect.

little one. houston newborn photographer

i LOVE my photographer friends. in a field where it is rare to have “co-workers” per se, having a network of photographer friends makes you feel less lonely while doing the business side of photography & helps you have the feeling that you have “co-workers.” lots of my photographer friends are online & i have never even met them but we all feel so close anyway! love that the photographer community is big but small at the same time because of all this networking & coming together! it makes it even sweeter when one of my “online” friends lives close enough to hang out! in comes jenny of jenny miller photography…love this girl! and she just had a baby so of course miles & i just had to come over for a minute to meet her! i brought my camera & snapped some pictures while miles crawled around…i say “just” had a baby…cambry is probably in junior high by now. i was not timely on these particular pictures…sorry friend! it was fun seeing you! congrats millers.
