what to wear. december

Another installment of “what to wear” December addition! Just to give you some ideas 🙂Now here is an example of putting it together in real life on real people! The Mason family (among most of my other clients, but I had to pick one!) know how to do it!

leah + fam. houston lifestyle photographer

allison & justin asked me to come over to their house to play! i loved it. it was so laid back & fun capturing a day in the life of the etchisons! and little leah sure has fun parents….i can see where she gets that precious, sparkly personality from! most of the session took place just hanging out in their home then we finished up at the neighborhood park. leah had so much fun! so glad i was asked to photograph this family, it really was fun & “real” which i LOVE. thank you so much allison & justin! i hope you like them.

Jenny - Love these lifestyle images!

Beira - What a fun session! Love the playful feel of these.

baby ava. league city newborn photographer

oh sweet little ava….you made us work for these pictures but i think you did it just bc you know how much i love your mom & dad & you wanted us to get to spend most the day together! i still love you ava & look forward to being able to snuggle & hug you with the camera put away! lauren & brent – it was so good seeing you. congrats! i am so happy for you. ava is BEAUTIFUL! thanks for having me come over to do this…means alot!

clark. cypress child photographer

this series of pictures made me laugh. that cutie was chasing his shadow back & forth as if he was saying “hey, stop! talk to me, i want to say hi to you!”love this little nugget, clark! it is almost his birthday – he is getting so big! i have had so much fun getting to know him & his parents through pictures but was so sad to hear that they will be moving soon 🙁 that makes me sad! they will be missed dearly! we made sure to get some pictures in front of his gorgeous hom for the memorie since they will be gone soon. thanks so much frase & melissa for choosing me to photograph clark…i just love him!

love these people. houston photographer

this session is special to me as all of them are for different reasons though! this is my brother (don’t we look alike?), sister in law & their kids: ben & braden. my garrett is sprinkled in there randomly. this session was planned long ago for my sweet, sweet dad’s birthday. the disc & 3 stand outs will be his gift tomorrow. i can’t WAIT to give it to him. but sshh, don’t tell! i am really bad at keeping secrets related to gifts that i’m excited about & i have been pretty much busting at the seam, he loves pictures & picture taking as much as me so he will love having the pictures. my mom is obsessed with stand outs so i know she will be excited, too….and i know my dad will really appreciate the fact that scott & stacy (who hate etting their picture taken) got the whole family all dressed & out the door to do this. well….just had to share because i love these people so much! and a big shout out to my dad who happens to have a pretty huge, monumental birthday tomorrow (he is turning 40 😉 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!!! you’d think i could just wait to share this until after his bday, right? i had made it so far keeping this secret operation on the DL but i have reached my maximum amount of self control!

OUTTAKES:

these boys have so much fun when they are together….maybe too much! ben was making noises with his mouth & ben & braden would LAAUUGH…they are only 4 days apart (3 years old) & ben is 6. they worship ben.
this was a long time ago that we took these. it was one of my very first sessions using kelvin white balance thanks to sarah wilkerson’s tutorials on clickinmoms. now i am obsessed & would have it no other way than kelvin!

sara - gorgeous kelly! love the lighting! i’ll have to try out that kelvin method sometime 🙂

Lisa (Tout Petit Pixel) - Fantastic!!!! I have a HUGE smile on my face after watching this 🙂

Cindy - Beautiful family. Happy B-day to your Dad!

Leah Cook - oh these are AWESOME, Kelly!!
