Dear Garrett –

You told me something today that broke my heart into little bitty pieces. You said you don’t like yourself very much right now. You don’t think you are good at anything & you feel like no one likes you.

Garrett Garvey…you are a GIFT to this earth. You are absolutely perfect to me & I mean that. I wouldn’t change a thing about you. I love you forever & always no matter what.

You are smart & witty. You make people laugh. Your smile is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. You’re clever & imaginative…you are energetic yet snuggly. You are the perfect combination of so many amazing qualities that so many people wish they had. Like your memory…you remember EVERYTHING! I don’t remember what I ate for lunch today. You are a sweet protector to your baby brother & he looks up to you. You are such a good guy.

Please please quit trying to push me away because it’s not going to work…I am not going ANYWHERE. I love you more than life itself & will be here for you no matter what. No matter what kind of day we had together I thank God for bringing you in my life & I know you love me even when you have your wall up. I cherish every second I have with you. I would do anything for you. I want you to understand truly how much you are loved. I want you to love yourself back that same amount.  You owe that to yourself. Your potential to do great things in this world is huge…you are unstoppable…but you have to love yourself. You deserve to do that for yourself because you are AWESOME. Quit saying those crazy things about yourself PLEASE! Step back & think about all the awesome things about yourself…I will help you.

Your smile makes the world a better place & I want to see more of it. You are such a good kid & have a huge heart. You really do make a difference in this world so much. All the sweet things you do never go unnoticed.

Thank you for being such an amazing communicator & always opening up to me. I’m sad you feel that way but am so glad you are expressive enough to tell me…I’m glad you feel so close to me. Please believe all the things I tell you….I mean every word of it.

I love you Garrett Hunter Garvey!

Elicia - Oh tears. Sweet Garrett and beautiful words. You are a good mama!

Celeste Pavlik - Oh my goodness Kelly, you/he made me cry!!! I love this and tell him that the triplets and C say Hi! I’m so glad you shared this special letter. <3

Susan O'Neal - —- Kelly, my heart was hurting for you, as I read this — that’s so difficult to hear your precious child say things like that — I do not think there is a child on this earth who has not felt that way at one time or another — (a part of growing up) — your words are just beautiful & this gorgeous photo of him is breathtaking — I, too, love his smile ——- he’s very special — xxooo
